Inpatient care at the Children's Medical Center, located on our University Campus in Worcester, is provided in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and our 41-bed, tertiary care inpatient pediatric unit where children and their families receive comprehensive and compassionate medical care and support. In addition, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on the Memorial Campus offers care to the tiniest patients.
Our medical staff includes physicians representing the multiple departments and expertise of our academic medical center. Their work is supported by nurses and nursing assistants, child life specialists, social workers, psychologists and dietitians, all of whom have special training and interest in caring for infants, children and adolescents.
Our family-centered care includes:
- Multidisciplinary medical and surgical acute care
- Recuperative care
- Palliative care
- Medical care and emotional support both pre- and post-procedure and surgery
- Patient and family education adapted to specific conditions and a child's age
